RE: Any suggestions for cooking beef in a low-temp oven?

Seems to me, that just setting the oven at the temp you want the meat to be, would be the most obvious choice.

RE: List products that ARE made, grown or assembled in the US

This may help BTC The whole world is concerned about China made 'black hearted goods'. Can you differentiate which one is made in Canada, Philippines, Taiwan or China? The first 3 digits of the barcode is the country code wherein the product was made. Sample: All barcodes that start at 690 - 695 are all MADE IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan Government and related departments won't educate the public. Therefore, we have to educate ourselves. Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products 'Made in China', so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode, remember if the first 3 digits are: 690-695 then it is Made in China. BARCODES 00 ~ 13 USA & CANADA 30 ~ 37 FRANCE 40 ~ 44 GERMANY 49 ~ JAPAN 50 ~ UK 57 ~ Denmark 64 ~ Finland 76 ~ Switzerland and Liechtenstein 471 ~ Taiwan 480 ~ Philippines 628 ~ Saudi-Arabien 629 ~ United Arab Emirates 690 ~ 695 China 740 ~ 745 Central America

Admiral Once you get it apart, just toss it in the garbage. They need to be in a sterile environment for disassembly and assembly. BTC

MrWizard Pretty easy fix. If you can't find the proper kits, just measure the cups and pick up the same sized ones. BTC

RE: Dash unreadable

dm38 Just last week I had the same problem with my Ford Explorer Radio and Compass. Dim readouts. If the display is working otherwise try this. I removed both circuit boards and re-soldered the LCD display input leads on the boards and the surface mount resistors on the boards. Both came back bright and clear. BTC

RE: Truck Camper killer denied parole

I don't see where Truscott enters into this. He was paroled after 10 years. It was just his Mommy trying to get the acquittal that caused the furor. In Canada if you want a conviction keep at it and you eventually will get a Judge or Jury to give you one. Conversely, if you want an Acquittal the same applies. IMHO trying a case 50 years after the fact is in itself a miscarriage of justice. Witnesses are dead, evidence is lost, memories are not clear. How can one expect to get to the truth in such a situation? End of rant. BTC

RE: Truck Camper killer denied parole

Paul I have to take exception to your comment that most Canadians don't want the Death Penalty. I haven't seen any Referendum to that effect here. I believe this was argued in Parliament during the reign of our Lieberal Government days and does not reflect the opinions of most Canadians. There may be Polls out there reflecting this opinion, but then again, they are just Polls. BTC

To answer your question about the gas tank. Yes that can happen. Take the tank off and empty it out. Could be gunk or some water in there. BTC

RE: Removing the carb on an Onan MicroQuite 4000

THEPISTONHEAD Try this first. With the engine running high RPM by pumping the throttle lever, put your hand over the air inlet on the carb and kill the motor while pumping the throttle lever. Sometimes this will dislodge gunk in the jets. The carb can't pull air so it pulls mega fuel through the jets with a bit more vigour. BTC

RE: Vista Ultimate & saving mouse settings issue

EPenney I have found that with Optical mice, (mouses), that any mouse pad with a colorful design on it can confuse the optics and make the pointer somewhat unreliable. BTC
